From the beginning, Aransas County EMS has operated fully staffed Mobile Intesive Care Units in order to provide the highest level of care to the citizen's and visitors of Aransas county.

In 1977 we orperated with only 1 MICU, and responded to a total of 586 patients.  From 1978 to 1990, we averaged between 1000 and 1100 patient responses per year.

Now the word is out.  Rockport was once a sleepy little fishing village.  But the secret is out, and people are moving in.  We now respond to over 3,000 patient responses a year, and continue to see increases.  Instead of one MICU, we now have five (5) with one reserve truck
